KRS-One Releases 23rd Album “Between Da Protests”

KRS-One is one of Hip-Hop’s GOATS (Greatest Of All Time) and this is for everything that he has done for Hip-Hop culture. He has officially released his 23rd album “Between Da Protests” worldwide but how come we aren’t seeing this blow up as much as it should? Many people would agree that this is because he’s never relied on marketing or promotion and maybe the truth is, after all, that he’s never been concerned with it. Fans and fellow Hip-Hop heads will nevertheless be speaking about this more than any media source ever would.

“Yo, I’m strictly about skills and dope lyrical coastin’, Relying on talent, not marketing and promotion” – KRS-One, “Step Into A World” (1997)

Taking a look into the content of this new album from KRS-One, we first got a glimpse of it with the release of “Don’t Fall For It” on December 7th, 2020 which was produced by emcee/producer SUN-ONE. The visuals for its music video took us into the lab for a behind-the-scenes look of where and how they cooked up this track.

A follow-up release to this was a powerful, moving song that focuses on black resilience and black truth, “BLACK BLACK BLACK” was released on December 16th, 2020. The track and music video paid homage to the memory of Kwame Sure who was a prominent organizer in the civil rights movement in the United States and the global Pan-African movement. After taking in the visuals and lyricism, this is certainly a must-watch and must hear from the album.
