Mayor sets annual holiday party for next Saturday

Mayor Jim Watson will host his annual Christmas celebration December 7. The festivities will be in support of the Ottawa Food Bank, with all proceeds from two-dollar beaver tails going to the nonprofit.

Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus will be on hand, ready to hear any Christmas wish lists. Party goers can enjoy a skate on the Rink of Dreams or take a horse drawn carriage ride around City Hall.

The party runs from 2-6 p.m. Anyone wanting to attend is asked to bring a non-perishable canned food item that will be donated to the Food Bank. OC Transpo will offer free rides to children under 11 between 1:30 and 6:30 p.m.
