Navigating our healthcare system in the middle of a pandemic can be challenging without a language barrier but COVID-19 is bringing inequities to light. Ottawa Public Health launched a new website Monday featuring resources in a variety of languages. This includes tools like information sheets and tips about physical distancing.
New resources
If you or your someone you know needs information in a different language, Ottawa Public Health has the following resources available:
- An information sheet in Kanien’kéha (Mohawk).
- An information sheet in Nishnaabemwin (Eastern Ojibwe).
- An information sheet in Swampy Cree.
- A fact sheet on physically distancing in ᐃᓄᒃᑎᑐᑦ (Inuktitut).
- An information sheet in ᐊᓂᐦᔑᓂᓃᒧᐏᐣ (Oji-Cree).
