You’ll have lots of room to walk, run and cycle this summer. The National Capital Commission says it is extending a pilot that gives you room on the roads.
The pilots have seen massive support from the community with the NCC reporting 97 percent of Gatineau residents support the closures.
The following pilots will stay open through to September 7th:
- The Gatineau, Champlain and Fortune Lake parkways
- The Sir George-Étienne Cartier Parkway in both directions between the Aviation Parkway and St. Joseph Boulevard
- The Sir John A. Macdonald Parkway’s westbound lanes from Booth Street to Carling Avenue
- The Queen Elizabeth Driveway from Laurier to Fifth avenues
The closures at Sir John A. Macdonald and Sir George-Étienne Cartier parkways will temporarily lift for Canada.
