You’ll have the chance to cycle, run and walk downtown on Bank Street this summer at a safe physical distance. Beginning this Saturday July 11th and every Saturday until August 8th, Bank Street will be closed to vehicle traffic from Queen Street down to Flora Street to open up more space to pedestrians and cyclists between 9:00 AM and midnight.  

OC Transpo bus routes that run along Bank between Queen and Flora will be re-routed during these Saturdays.

This comes after Bank Street’s Business Improvement Area brought the pilot proposal forward last week. It also follows the National Capital Commission’s closures of major parkways to vehicles to promote physical distancing for pedestrian and cyclists.  

Bank Street’s BIA will decide whether or not the pilot will be extended on August 8th.
