How’s it going this week? Cases are still pretty high in Ottawa and regardless of that sad fact, there’s never a bad time to reiterate the importance of wearing a mask and washing and sanitizing your hands regularly to keep safe and avoid spreading germs. Stay COVIDWISE as Ottawa Public Health would say. If you want to stay home and stay safe, I’ve got some fun ideas for you this week.

This week I’ve been diving into past concert footage from shows I went to and a few that I’m sad I missed a couple years back. One of these shows was Bon Iver’s performance at Primavera Sound in Spain back in 2017. After watching that, I checked out Mac Demarco’s set too. Do you have a favourite concert you’ve been reminiscing about? There’s a chance it could be cemented in time through a Youtube video.
[Watching]
And I’m back with my typical true crime show this week! Except this one isn’t that typical…I’ve been enjoying I’ll Be Gone in the Dark, the HBO show that follows the case of the Golden State Killer and the story of Michelle McNamara who sadly passed away while inching closer and closer to solving the crime. It’s a captivating look at cold cases from the 70s and 80s that were left behind. However, Michelle changed everything with her instincts by becoming a citizen detective and taking fresh angles to crack the case. You can check out new episodes every Sunday on Crave.
[Spending Time]
In case you missed it, I finally dusted my bike off and have been enjoying exploring some new trails and areas in the city. I know this isn’t exactly a “stay home” activity, but I count it because I can keep my distance and get some exercise safely. I’ve checked out the Ottawa River Pathway and the Rideau Canal Pathway so far. If you aren’t a big fan of crowds, cycling is the perfect solution to stay safe outdoors.
I’m always looking for new recommendations though! So, this week I asked you to
choose one beach, one attraction, one park and one trail or path from the capital. If you didn’t get a chance, I’ve included the list here. Maybe I missed something, so feel free to drop a comment below!
