Hey! How’s your week starting off? It’s an exciting one with Capital Pride on the go with a slew of virtual events and festivities you can check out. I know, it feels like we were just here doing the Stay Home Club thing, but I’m heading off for a few days to get in some staycation and cottage time. That said, I’m going to be embracing a lot of stay home worthy activities and I thought I’d share them below!
[Listening]
I’ve been enjoying the latest Bright Eyes‘ record, Down in the Weeds, Where the World Once Was. After nine years of waiting, this was the perfect blend of the folk I’ve come to expect from the band along with some of the experimental moments and memorable audio samplings they’ve been known to add into their songs.
As far as what I’m going to be listening to later this week, Twin Flames‘ new record, Omen is out on Friday. You’ve probably heard their tune Battlefields and their cover of the Tragically Hip’s tune, Grace Too, leading up to the release. I can’t wait to hear it in its entirety!
[Watching]
Several of the Studio Ghibli movies have been added back into the Netflix library and despite thinking I’d seen them all, there are a lot more out there! I watched Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind and have plans to check out Ponyo and The Wind Rises very soon!
[Reading]
I was so into watching true crime documentaries, that I thought I’d deep dive into classic mystery novels and grabbed a copy of Dashiell Hammett’s, The Maltese Falcon. It has become a standard that many mystery writers look to as well. I can’t wait to find out how Detective Spade finds his way out of this mess.
[Spending Time]
I’m right back into the embroidery projects again, but I’ve decided to try and learn a few new stitches to up my game including the french knot and the star stitch. These will allow me to create new textures on the embroidered pieces. I’ve pricked my finger one too many times, though, let me just say!
What have you been up to this week? Let me know below!
