You Can Shop Local & Immerse in a Virtual Market from the Comfort of Home This Week

If you’ve been missing out on the plethora of markets Ottawa has to offer, youll want to show some love to Freewheeling Craft, known for their fun and inclusive marketplaces in the capital. But it’s hard to plan and host a market in the midst of a pandemic, so they’ve taken to the digital world to spotlight local vendors. But the organizers wanted to make it as immersive as possible so it goes beyond browsing an online shopYou can also attend workshops and panel discussions with makers or even vibe out to live music casts from performers in the community. Artists like DJ Fun and Jessica Pearson & The Eastwinds will take the virtual stage.

The online market starts on Thursday, September 17 and goes on until Sunday, September 20. The first day of the marketplace will spotlight BIPOC brands while the remaining days will showcase all brands and makers. Tickets are $5 with half the proceeds from each ticket going to Black Business & Professionals Association (BBPA)Your ticket will allow you access to all four days of the event. You can grab yours here.
