Stay Home Club with Jill Kennedy: October 19-25

Happy spring! Er, Friday! What a happy and sunny way to end what I would consider to be one of the gloomiest weeks we’ve had in a while here in the capital! As tempting as it is to get outside and enjoy this last bit of summer (or spring? I’m not sure!), we’ve got to keep up our efforts. Daily cases are trending downward as we’ve all been keeping a safe distance and limiting trips. However, that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy the outdoors safely too. This week’s Stay Home Club involves some going out options, but I promise I wouldn’t tell you to do anything unsafe! Check out my suggestions below!

[Listening]

William Prince dropped a brandnew album this week as an ode to his childhood home on Peguis First Nation. It’s called Gospel First Nation and it features classic gospel country tracks, including three originals. I’ll be honest, gospel country isn’t my genre of choice, but William makes everything sound incredible. Check it out here

[Watching]

I needed something fun and cute to balance out my horror movie marathon, so I’ve been finding pockets of time to squeeze in an episode or two of Emily in Paris. It comes from Sex and the City’s, Darren Star, so it checks the boxes for fashion, romance, friendship and, well, sex. It’s also in Paris so it fulfills that lack of travel we’ve all been experiencing these days. You can check it out on Netflix.

[Spending Time]

This weekend I’m heading to Parc Omega, a nature safari for some of the creatures that live near the capital, including a wolf pack, bison, deer and more. The park is located in Montebello, Quebec, about one hour outside the city. Safety measures are in place so you’ll have to book ahead due to COVID-19 restrictions. Check it out here

That’s my Stay Home Club! What’s on yours this week?
