Keep Your Spooky Traditions Alive with our Outdoor Guide to Ottawa Halloween

Have you had trouble explaining no trick-or-treating to your kids this year for Halloween? That doesn’t mean you can’t leave the house and celebrate in new and creative ways while keeping a safe distance! The greater Ottawa area is full of spooky and fun attractions for all age groups that your family and friends will love.  

Pumpkin Fest 

For the little adventurer in your life, Pumpkin Fest is the perfect outing! Pumpkin Fest offers something for everyone, from a hayride, to a petting zoo to a corn maze to a workshop on how to grow your own pumpkins! Pick out your favourite pumpkin and some farm fresh veggies too!  

Location: Proulx Farm, Cumberland, ON 

Price: $8.85-$13.35 

Time: Weekdays 9:30PM-4PM and Weekends 8:30AM-5:15PM until October 31 

Good to know: Pumpkin Fest is open to everyone all ages – kids under 18 months get in for free. 

Acres of Terror 

For those who love to get spooky, Acres of Terror is for you! You’ll be able to enjoy The Spooky Wagon Ride, the House of Terror, the Spooky Village, and the Fog Maze. Whether you want to go with the family or head there with a group of friends for a good scare, Cannamore’s Acres of Terror happens by day and by night until Halloween.  

Location: Cannamore Orchard, Crysler, ON  

Price: $18.75 and up during the day, $30.00 during the night. 

Time: Nights until October 31st, during the day on October 31st  

Good to know: ELMNT FM is giving away tickets to Acres of Terror from Monday, October 26th to Wednesday, October 28th from 3-7PM with Jill!

Pumpkinferno 

For the creative and artistic child, check out Pumpkinferno! It’s an outdoor walking art exhibit featuring pumpkins and lighting and it spans one kilometre so you know there’s lots to see! Make sure to keep your camera handy to snap some photos of the night. 

Location: Upper Canada Village, Morrisburg, ON  

Price: $16.00 per person 

Time: Nights until November 2nd, 2020 

Good to know: While most tickets are sold out, you can still grab some for Monday, November 2nd

Zombie Slayer Thrill Ride 

For those kids who love an adrenaline rush, why not check out the Zombie Slayer Thrill Ride? Your kids will get to shoot at zombies and creepy creatures while moving through the course by way of a school bus. You’ll be safely seated with paintball guns lined up along the windows. The best part: the zombies don’t shoot back!  

Location: Commando Paintball, Navan, ON 

Price: $24.99 for 100 rounds and bus ride, $29.99 for 150 rounds and bus ride. 

Time: Friday and Saturday nights from 6-11PM until Saturday, October 31st 

Good to know: The minimum age is 10. Children 10-11 will need a parent and guardian to ride with them and parents get in for free with their kids. 

Frightfest Drive Thru 

For those who love their haunted walks, Saunders Farm has created the perfect solution to the pandemic’s restrictions with the Frightfest Drive Thru, a 15minute drive that takes you through several creepy areas including a cemetery, the coven, the haunted hayride and shambles 

Location: Saunders Farm, Munster, ON 

Price: $50.00 per vehicle 

Timing: 6:30-10:30PM until Sunday, November 1, 2020 

Good to know: Your ticket covers as many people as there are seatbelts in your car.
