Stay Home Club with Jill Kennedy: October 26 – November 1

Happy Halloween weekend! What are you getting up to? Cooler temperatures this week make the discouragement of trick-or-treating in the capital a little easier to swallow. If you need some plans though, check out our indoor and outdoor guides to Halloween in Ottawa. I’ve also got some ideas for you to check out below to keep you happily home and safe this weekend!

[Watching]

Besides my goal to watch 31 horror movies in 31 days – which is almost complete by the way – I checked out David Letterman’s new season of My Next Guest Needs No Introduction. So far, I’ve watched Kim Kardashian’s episode, and it’s jam-packed with interesting and tough topics like Kim getting robbed at Paris Fashion Week, the relationship her parents had with OJ Simpson during his trial and Kim’s legal work on prison reform. This season also includes interviews with Lizzo, Robert Downey Jr and Dave Chappelle. It’s streaming on Netflix.

[Listening]

Raye Zaragoza released her sophomore album, Woman in Color, last week and you can surely describe me as obsessed! Raye handles political subjects with grace and in such a beautiful way while still getting to the heart of the issues. Check out my full review here and let me know which song you’ve been digging the most!

[Spending Time]

It’s been a very spooky week around here with Halloween movie marathons, decorations galore and pumpkin carving. The scariest part of all, though, is how much Halloween candy I’ve consumed!! I’m keeping it pretty spooky for the weekend. I’ve got plans to check out Pumpkinferno. It’s an outdoor art show featuring art made out of pumpkins at Upper Canada Village. Otherwise, I’ll be wrapping up that spooky movie marathon and having a video chat costume party with my pals.

What have you been up to this week? Got any fun plans on your Stay Home Club?
