It’s been another interesting week in the capital! We move into the orange phase tomorrow, which means restaurants, gyms and theatres are able to open again. Meanwhile, our neighbours to the south are in the midst of a historical election and it’s been top of mind all week long. Have you been feeling the stress and anxiety? I have. If you need someone to talk to, check out this list of resources from Cody. But maybe, you’re just looking for some distractions going into the weekend. I’ve got you covered on this week’s Stay Home Club.

Weekend plans? There’s a virtual benefit concert hosted by Assembly of Seven Generations that you can support coming up Saturday, November 7 called the Landback Wealth Redistribution Concert. Leonard Sumner, Logan Staats, Drezus, Amanda Rheaume and ELMNT FM’s evening host, Cody Coyote among many other Indigenous talents are coming together to bring you live performances to help raise funds for seven movements fighting injustices against Indigenous and Black communities such as the Algonquin moose moratorium, the discrimination against Mi’kmaq fishers and the Black Lives Matter movement. Get your tickets here. Pay what you can here.

This week, I’m totally obsessed with the CANADALAND podcast, Cool Mules, hosted by Kasia Mychajlowycz, which follows the story of a drug smuggling ring within VICE Media. I don’t want to say too much because of all the surprise twists and turns, but it’s gripping, unexpected and just plain strange.
[Spending Time]
I’m back to my embroidery projects! Christmas is around the corner for those of us making gifts and I’ve got a lot of work ahead of me. Embroidery is also quite meditative and it’s a good excuse to put your phone down for a few hours. The end result is usually pretty sweet, too!
What have you been up to this week? Let me know what you’ve got on your Stay Home Club!
