Manitobah Mukluks has partnered with Sarain Fox. A long time supporter, Sarain is working with the company to release signature leather winter boots. The release is a limited edition with only 150 pairs available for purchase.

The Sarain Fox Kootenay boot was inspired by her traditional name, Morningstar, or Wabunangokwe in Anishinaabemowin. Sarain describes the Morningstar as “the brightest star of the new day that stays through the sunrise.” To her, it means renewal.

She was inspired to create this piece for youth who are making changes, like the stars help to guide the way. Sarain chose a vibrant colour palette including neon yellow, orange, green and pink. She says it represents the modernity of her work and her identity.

Sarain is from Batchawana First Nation. She is the host of RISE on VICELAND and one of the hosts of APTN‘s Future History. She is a dancer, choreographer, producer and brand ambassador. The thread of all of her skills and roles is her passion around storytelling.
