Stay Home Club with Jill Kennedy: November 9-15

Happy Friday! Did you enjoy that burst of November spring this week? I’m sad to see it go. Although, it helps given all the lingering feelings of daylight savings time and that post-election stress. It’s been a good week for some normalcy, though! Santa Claus is coming to town and CityFolk will happen, just a little differently. In the meantime, it’s cold and you probably want some ideas to keep you busy this weekend. I’ve got you covered on this week’s Stay Home Club.

[Watching]

After years of being told I’d love it, I’m watching the show Kath & Kim! It’s an Australian sitcom that follows a mother and daughter living in the suburbs with their partners. I’m a fan of dry humour in sitcoms and Kath & Kim is the epitome of that! It’s written by three female comedians, which is totally refreshing. The cast is tiny, with stars Jane Turner and Gina Riley playing multiple characters throughout. Check out this absurd and hilarious sitcom on Netflix. It’s not very in-your-face so make sure to listen in for the funny double meanings and subtleties in the dialogue!

[Listening]

Billie Eilish dropped a new upbeat pop track and music video this week. It’s called “Therefore I Am” and the video features her running through an empty mall. As she goes, she steals food from different vendors. It’s a simple concept but a little bizarre and directed by Billie. Check it out below!

[Spending Time]

I’m totally sucked into the world of the online game, Among Us, lately. It’s a social deduction game that takes place on a spaceship. You play as a Crewmate or an Impostor. The Impostor’s goal is to sabotage the ship and murder all the crewmates without being caught. The Crewmates’ goal is to figure out who it is through a series of emergency meetings. The meetings take place after bodies of killed crewmates are found or when someone sees something suspicious. You vote out the most suspicious person each round, but the trick is trying to sway your team to vote off the same person. If the Impostor is voted off, the Crew wins. I really enjoy playing as both roles. Either way, you flex the clever muscle! This is a great quick-round style game too and makes for a nice break once in a whileCheck it out

Those are just a few ideas! What’s on your Stay Home Club this week?
