Stay Home Club with Jill Kennedy from November 23-29

Happy weekend! Although temperatures have dropped, there’s no shortage of stuff to do from the comfort of home. You could check out some fashion runways at Indigenous Fashion Week Toronto. Need to get in some Christmas shopping? There are many Christmas markets our city has to offer (mostly virtual, by the way!). If you’re looking for a bit of an escape, you can spot the International Space Station from our city until December 4th. I’ve got even more ideas on this week’s Stay Home Club below!

[Listening]

Starting off the weekend right! Miley Cyrus dropped her rock n’ roll debut album, Plastic Hearts, on November 26th. It’s got features from rock royalty, Joan Jett, Billy Idol and Stevie Nicks. And for pop lovers, Dua Lipa features on the track, “Prisoner.” It has a little bit of everything, with the tear-inducing, Hate Me” and the rockin“Night Crawling.” I think this may have snuck into my top 10 albums of the year!

[Watching]

There is no shortage of concerts this weekend from City Folk’s virtual shows to Dua Lipa’s online party. But I can’t stress this enough don’t miss G.R. Gritt’s single release party for Quiet Years from their upcoming album. They are an incredible performer who brought me to tears when I saw them light up Queen Street Fare a year ago in the city! The show kicks off on Friday, November 26th at 9:30PM.

[Spending Time]

This weekend I’m starting my re-listening of the most renowned albums of the year – including a couple personal favourites of mine. From Lady Gaga to Raye Zaragoza to Run the Jewels, there are a lot of great picks! Check out my giant list, which I hope to narrow down to 10 Wish me luck!
