Cold weather plus a lockdown is the perfect combo to soak up your favourite things from the comfort and warmth of home. If you need some ideas for what to get lost in, I’ve got some for you, here!
[Reading]
This year I’ve opted to read way more books. My favourite title I read in 2021 is Murakami’s, South of the Border, West of the Sun. Like most Murakami books, it follows the fictitious life story of a middle-aged man who relives key moments and hones in on specific relationships in his life. After many years apart, his childhood best friend (and crush) reappears in his life, and he is sucked into his infatuation. Meanwhile, he has a wife and kids. It’s a beautifully written but sad tale – I would recommend it!
[Watching]
I finally gave into the hype and the encouragement from friends and began watching the Netflix hit, Bridgerton! The story follows Daphne Bridgerton as she seeks out an ideal suitor. She pairs up with an unlikely match – a duke with no interest in marriage – in hopes of finding someone more suitable. But it can’t be that easy! It’s got romance, seduction and scandal, which honestly is not my thing most of the time. However, the plot, character development and acting is so well done, I find myself pretty invested. Each episode runs about one hour so buckle up. It’s the perfect way to spend your free time.
[Listening]
I’ve been enjoying Spotify’s Lo-Fi Beats and Lazy Jazz Cat playlists. They make for the perfect back drop to run a bath and take in a good book. I’ve never been good at listening to music with lyrics and reading. It’s harder to concentrate!
[Spending Time]
Pokémon GO has been a good time spend these days. Plus, it’s motivation to venture out into the cold for a nice walk while you catch some Pokémon, visit Pokémon stops and maybe even take in a gym battle! The more steps you do, the more rewards come to you. Not bad, right?
That’s what I’ve been up to! What’s on your Stay Home Club this week?
