The 27th annual Screen Actor’s Guild Award nominees were announced Thursday. Lilly Collins of Emily in Paris and Daveed Diggs of Hamilton, took to Instagram live to reveal the nominations.
The category to watch is Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture, where Da 5 Bloods, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, Minari, One Night in Miami and The Trial of the Chicago 7 are nominated.
Outstanding performance by a female actor in a leading role is between Amy Adams (Hillbilly Elegy), Viola Davis (Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom), Vanessa Kirby (Pieces of a Woman), Frances McDormand (Nomadland) and Carey Mulligan (Promising Young Woman).
Outstanding performance by a male actor in a leading role will see Riz Ahmed (Sound of Metal), Chadwick Boseman (Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom), Anthony Hopkins (The Father), Gary Oldman (Mank) and Steven Yeun (Minari) go up against one another.
The late Chadwick Boseman starred in two nominated films, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom and Da 5 Bloods.
Meanwhile, in the television categories, Schitt’s Creek, Ozark, The Crown, Dead to Me and The Flight Attendant all received multiple nods.
