This weekend, Asinabka Festival has partnered with Gallery 101 to bring you a virtual edition of Unikkaaqtuarniq, which is Inuktitut for “storytelling.”
The Stories from the North event is known for projecting films onto screens made of snow, and this year, that tradition continues virtually. However, instead of movies, they will be broadcasting free music performances from Inuit artists on Facebook Live. Indigenous film screenings are taking place again as well, and can be watched from the Asinabka Festival website. This year’s lineup includes five feature length films and short films.
It costs $10 plus tax to access them all. Catch the screenings from Friday, February 26th at 7:00PM until February 28th at 11:59PM. Get your tickets here.
