Stay Home Club with Jill Kennedy: March 1-7

Happy weekend! So many twists and turns with the weather all week, you might be ready to stay in this weekend! If you need some inspiration, there’s a lot of great things to do.

[Listening]

Craving those good concert vibes? This weekend, G.R. Gritt and Julian Taylor perform at the SHINE Concert, which is a fundraising event for the SHINE music bursary. Also performing are Emily Burgess, Michelle Rumball and Charmie. Check it out this Sunday, March 7th at 7:30PM. Get your tickets here.

[Watching]

In case you missed it during the week, there’s still time to take in the Kingston Canadian Film Festival! The festival features Indigenous and Canadian made films, documentaries and shorts. Not sure where to start? I’ve been reviewing some of the selections all week long. Check it out here.

[Reading]

Leave it to me to find a romantic book about radio! Rachel Lynn Solomon’s The Ex Talk follows two public radio co-workers who butt heads at the office, who are forced to work together – but could they find love in the process? Sure, this isn’t what I’d normally go for in a book – but it’s cute and I appreciate the radio jargon. And so far, the cheese factor is pretty low. So, I consider it a win!

[Spending Time]

Lately, I’ve been pretty into organizing the apartment. I got some of those cube-style storage bins and I’ve been putting any loose stuff in those to make everything look a little cuter. But more so, to protect things from our incoming puppy’s grasp! It makes the place seem a lot tidier, though – so I think we’ll stick to this when she gets older.
