Stay Home Club with Jill Kennedy: March 8-14

Happy weekend! How’s your March going? No lousy S’March weather here. In fact, we got somewhat of a fake spring this week! Ah, to feel the sun on my skin! It’s been a sleepless week over here. I got a new puppy, a french bulldog named Müna, and she has taken up a lot of my free time. But when I have been able to get in some me-time, here’s what I’ve been up to:

Futurama is now available to stream! In my personal opinion, which could start a fight, maybe: Futurama is where it’s at, for all The Simpsons has stopped doing over the years! Check it out on Disney+.

Aminder Dhaliwal’s web comic series, Women World, was turned into a graphic novel. It’s a tongue-in-cheek story of a world with no men and it highlights the lives of the different women who live there. It made me feel all sorts of ways, but mostly it had me laughing. I would recommend this for sure!

Looking for a new band to check out? Indigenous Canadian rock duo, Crown Lands dropped two surprise tracks and a music video after news of their two Juno nominations for Rock Album of the Year and Breakthrough Group earlier this week! The tracks, “Right Way Back” and “Context: Fearless Pt. 1”, are rooted in classic rock vibes. The duo are huge admirers of Rush, and it shows. Also – they got to work with some of Rush’s producers on these tracks! Check out the video for Context: Fearless Pt. 1 here.

[Spending Time]

On behalf of Mario Day (March 10th), Nintendo has marked down prices on some Nintendo Switch accessories and some of their household games, including Luigi’s Mansion 3, Mario Tennis Aces, Mario Maker 2 and Mario Party. It’s rare to find these games on sale, so I took advantage of getting Luigi’s Mansion 3. It’s basically Ghost Busters as a game, and it’s a whole lot of fun. You move up the mansion through a series of odd and interesting floors that get kookier as you go. The Mario Day Sale is on until March 13th
