Ottawa will be heading into the red zone of Ontario’s colour-coded pandemic framework at tomorrow.
Ontario’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, Dr. David Williams says that through discussions with local health officials, it was decided that further action was needed “to help ensure the continued health and safety of people in the region.”
Dr. Vera Etches said earlier in the week that it was likely to happen as not enough progress was being made in getting our positive case-counts down to a manageable level.
The drop from orange to red means further limits on indoor dining and exercise classes and the closure of movie theatres.
As well, social gatherings will be limited to 5 people indoors and 25 people outdoors.
