Spring is in the air! For real this time? Please? How’s your week going? I’m so happy for more sunshine. Daylight Savings Time usually puts a weird spell on me, but this time, I’m feeling pretty stoked about it. I’m even stoked for the mud that is born out of the melted snow and ice – says a lot! Besides going outside all the time, I’ve been keeping busy with some stay-at-home recommendations. Check them out below!
[Watching]
This month at ELMNT, we’ve been asking you to vote on all your favourite pandemic TV shows! We’ve narrowed it down to a solid top 4 with Schitt’s Creek, Dead to Me, Tiger King and The Queen’s Gambit fighting for that number one spot. It occurred to me I’ve seen every single show on the list except for the latest season of Dead to Me. So, I’ve kicked off my watching and, between Christina Applegate’s potty mouth and Linda Cardellini’s warm, yet very strange nature, it’s been a blast. This show is the epitome of dark comedy. It’s on Netflix.
[Reading]
I’ve always thought one day is not enough to celebrate women, so I’ve been reading a lot of works about women, by women. This week’s read is We Should All be Feminists by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. It’s a personal essay based on her TEDx talk that shares a dream of a new future. It’s a quick and powerful read, and I encourage everyone to check it out.
[Listening]
Ethiopian/ Eritrean artist, Witch Prophet, dropped a new track for her first 2021 release recently called “Shine.” It’s just about the most chill vibe you could ask for, with dreamy loops and calming vocal melodies.
[Spending Time]
Maybe I’m old school, but it occurred to me that I don’t have a lot of family and friend photos around the house, so I decided to order some to get printed and picked up some frames, too. This weekend, I plan to hang them up all over to remember the good old days, pre-pandemic.
