Where to Watch the Biggest Films at this year’s Academy Awards in Canada

The 93rd Academy Awards are coming up soon and, what better way to gear up then by watching this year’s biggest flicks. Here’s how to watch some of the most-anticipated movies of award’s season.

Mank (David Fincher), 10 nominations

Mank transports you back to 1930s Hollywood, following the story of troubled screenwriter, Herman J. Mankiewicz as he struggles to finish the Citizen Kane screenplay.

The Father (Florian Zeller), 6 nominations

The Father tells the story of an old man who suffers from dementia, but wants his independence. However, he begins to experience strange changes around him that call reality into question.

Judas and the Black Messiah (Shaka King), 6 nominations

Judas and the Black Messiah is a biopic about Black Panther Party Chairman, Fred Hampton, and the FBI’s attempts to silence the party through coercion.

Nomadland takes a look at how nomads live in the modern world, without having one set place to call home.

Sound of Metal (Darius Mauder), 6 nominations

Sound of Metal follows the story of a metal drummer who starts to deal with hearing loss and how he navigates such an life-altering change.

The Trial of the Chicago 7 (Aaron Sorkin), 6 nominations

The Trial of the Chicago 7 is a courtroom drama that looks back at the trial of a group of young men who were accused of inciting the Chicago riots against the Vietnam War during the 1968 Democratic National Convention.

Promising Young Woman (Emerald Fennel), 5 nominations

Promising Young Woman dives deep into the world of Cassie, who has a plan for vengeance after a traumatizing incident rocks her world. When the people who brought on her trauma are re-introduced to her life, things get interesting.

Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom (George C. Wolfe), 5 nominations

Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom looks at the story of recording artist, Gertrude “Ma” Rainey, also known as the Mother of Blues, as she records with her band in the late 1920s and they work to change music forever.
