CHEO Benefiting from Ontario Budget

The Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario will be seeing a share of $240 million from yesterday’s provincial budget to help children and youth with special needs.

The funding will assist with capacity issues in early intervention rehab and preschool language support.

A 200,000-square-foot facility will be built at CHEO, which the hospital says will help 40-thousand children and youth with special needs and mental health challenges get better care faster.

A similar building is being constructed in Chatham-Kent to help children and families in Southwestern Ontario.
