Canadian Academy Announces Canadian Screen Awards Nominees

The Canadian Academy announced this year’s nominees for the 9th annual Canadian Screen Awards 

In television, Schitt’s Creek leads with the most nominations with 21. Trickster and Cardinal: Into the Night follow close behind with 15 nods each. APTN is up for six awards, including Best News Anchor, National for Melissa Ridgen and Dennis Ward, Best News or Information Series for APTN Investigates and Best National Newscast with APTN National News. 

In this year’s film nominees, Blood Quantum from Mi’kmaq director, Jeff Barnaby is up for ten awards and Beans from Mohawk director, Tracey Deer is up for five awards. Carmen Moore is up for Actress in a Leading Role for her performance in Rustic Oracle.
