Beaded Red Dress Workshop at NAC

Red Dress Day takes place on May 5th. A very important day to recognize MMIWG (Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls). Join a beading workshop with your teacher Mairi Brascoupe (Algonquin Anishinabeg) who is the Indigenous Cultural Resident for Indigenous Theatre at the National Arts Centre. Making these simple beaded red dress pins can help bring awareness to all of our MMIWG.

The workshop is available for non-indigenous and indigenous individuals, and for both beginner and experienced beaders alike! The workshop will be split between two one and a half-hour sessions via Zoom. The instructor will be available to interact and take questions while beading. This workshop takes place over two days: Tuesday April 27 and Tuesday May 4, from 5:30pm – 7:00pm EST each day.
