Hip-Hop News – April 16, 2021

The first posthumous verse from DMX arrived today following the Ruff Ryders legend’s death a week ago on April 9, 2021. Titled “Been to War,” the song is a collaboration with one of his best friend’s Swizz Beatz and French Montana and has made an appearance on the soundtrack for the “Godfather of Harlem” series.

Also Eazy-E’s daughter Ebie Wright wants to honour the
the N.W.A legend by bringing his story to the big screen with a documentary about his life, but she’s having trouble bringing in one of Eazy-E‘s most important collaborators Ice Cube and says that he is ducking her. In a recent interview with Too Fab she admitted her father’s fellow N.W.A member has been avoiding her.

There’s so many people that are talking on this about my father and are in support of what I’m doing, and have been there for me, and just have a lot of great things to say about him, and not just even great things, but also just telling their story… what they know, what they’ve seen, their relationship with my father. How he paved the way for them, opened many doors for them.

She also added “The only thing I will say honestly, is probably the only person that actually matters to this story I’m telling, who hasn’t talked on it so far, I’m just being completely honest … is Ice Cube.
