From beef in the industry to showing respect, a lot has happened this week in regards to Hip-Hip culture!
J.Cole recently released his long awaited album “The Off-Season” and something to draw attention to is that he has confirmed the rumours of a fight happening between him and Sean “Puff Daddy” Combs on the 8th track of the album “let go my hand“. The scrap reportedly happened over Kendrick Lamar‘s verse on Big Sean‘s “Control” and in this track we hear J.Cole say “My last scrap was with Puff Daddy, who would’ve thought it?“, which is a more than obvious statement of what took place between them.
In other news, Fat Joe has paid respect to DJ Khaled and has dubbed him “The Quincy Jones of Hip-Hop“ during a new episode of Drink Champs with N.O.R.E.and DJ EFN. He elaborated by saying that DJ Khaled is at the top of his craft and said that other rappers should be paying their respect as well.
“People take away the greatness from Khaled and they say, ‘Well he just gets a bunch of big-time rappers and puts them on the same song,’” he said. “There’s a million DJs and producers that try that, and those ain’t hit records. And it’s been a long time since we heard Nas and JAY-Z on what to me sounds like a smash hit, like a SMASH hit, that can play on the radio, it’s streaming incredibly. So DJ Khaled really is the Quincy Jones of Hip Hop right now.”
