This week, I read a memoir called The Education of Augie Merasty. He was a residential school survivor who documented the atrocities that went on during his time at the school in Sturgeon Landing, Saskatchewan. I’m on a personal learning journey to be a better ally to Indigenous folks and this book was a heartbreaking, yet crucial introduction to the injustices.
