Stay Home Club with Jill Kennedy: May 31 to June 6

How’s your week going? The stay at home order is lifted, sort of? But I think it’s alright to assume staying home is a safe bet. If you need something to do this weekend, I’ve got you covered here.

[Listening]

If you couldn’t get enough of “Blue Moon Drive”, not to worry. iskwē and Tom Wilson are back with yet another collaboration on a tune called “Starless Nights.” Check it out here as part of ELMNT FM’s Red Music Fridays, along with their chat with Julian Taylor.

[Reading]

This week, I read a memoir called The Education of Augie Merasty. He was a residential school survivor who documented the atrocities that went on during his time at the school in Sturgeon Landing, Saskatchewan. I’m on a personal learning journey to be a better ally to Indigenous folks and this book was a heartbreaking, yet crucial introduction to the injustices. You can find more resources for allyship as a non-Indigenous person here.

[Watching]

Celebrate Pride Month from the comfort of home with the Inside Out Film Festival, happening until Sunday, June 6.
