This week in Hip-Hop there has been an update in regards to the death of Digital Underground‘s founder, Shock G and Kanye West has been seen with a new partner.

Gregory Jacobs also known as Shock G was the founder of the renowned Hip-Hop supergroup Digital Underground and on April 22nd news broke that he was found unresponsive in his Tampa, Florida, USA hotel room. The hotel manager found him in his room after he missed his check out time and up until now the cause of death was unknown.

Shock G was best known for his on stage persona as “Humpty Hump” but off stage his fellow bandmates and former manager knew that he was someone who was battling addiction. According to the report from the Hillsborough County Medical Examiner, made exclusive by TMZ, it has been confirmed that Shock G died from a lethal mixture of of fentanyl, alcohol and methamphetamine at the age of 57.

Moving our attention to Kanye West, he made recent headlines when he was spotted celebrating his birthday in France with his new partner, Irina Shayk. Now Irina was seen with Kanye attending DMX’s memorial as he led a Sunday Service and released merchandise in partnership with Balenciaga in celebration of the late rapper’s life. Are things getting serious between these two or is Kanye West on the rebound after his divorce from Kim Kardashian?Regardless, Kim hasn’t even remotely been phased with this as an insider said “Kim is fine with it” followed by “She just wants him to be happy and healthy.”
