Ottawa Comiccon Postponed To 2022; Holiday Edition Still Planned For This Year

While conventions have started up again in the United States and other parts of Canada, it’s going to take Ottawa a little while longer to get its geek on. Ottawa Comiccon has announced that it will once again be postponing the ninth edition of its popular fan convention. Instead of taking place September 10th to 12th 2021, the event will now go forward from September 9th to 11th 2022 at the EY Centre

In a press release sent out Wednesday morning, Ottawa Comiccon’s Vice-President of Operations Scott Peron noted that “The Ottawa Comiccon team was hoping to be able to hold a safe and exciting event this September. However, the EY Centre will not be ready for use at the dates of our event. We wish to see you all in November to celebrate all things pop-culture during our Holiday Edition, and to come back even stronger in 2022.” To read the full press release, click here

Organizers originally scheduled the ninth edition of Ottawa Comiccon for September 11th to 13th 2020. However, the organization made the decision to postpone the event to 2021. If the event goes on in Fall 2022, that means there will have been a gap of 1219 days, or 3 years and 4 months, between events.

Thankfully, eager fans won’t have to wait that long to get a taste of the con experience. Ottawa Comiccon: Holiday Edition is still set for November 20th and 21st 2021 at the EY Centre. It is a free event that puts more emphasis on vendors than guests. Expect more information on this event in the coming months.
