“For Love” documentary shines light on Canadian child welfare system

A new documentary will explore the effects of Canada’s child welfare system on Indigenous people and communities. “For Love,” from “Highway of Tears” director, Matt Smiley, is a journey across the land where Indigenous peoples will tell their stories surrounding Canada’s foster came system. The documentary, written and produced by Smiley and Mary Teegee, will be narrated by Shania Twain.

“For Love” will premiere at a special ceremony to mark The National Day of Truth and Reconciliation in Vancouver. The release date has not been announced.
