The capital is making its mark as one of the most active cities across the globe. A new study from Reebok called The Global State of Fitness, ranked Ottawa as the 16th most fit place to live. Amsterdam ranked the fittest, followed by Copenhagen and Helsinki. Only three Canadian cities made the list, with Vancouver ranking in at 13 and Montreal following behind the capital by two spots at 18.
The study took into account factors like the cost of gym memberships, the amount of people who bike or walk to work, obesity rates, the amount of green space in the city and the number of people going to the gym. The capital is known for lower price points for gym memberships and for having 10% of the population exercise to get to work.
