Ottawa Mayor Jim Watson will not be running for re-election in 2022.

Watson posted a statement this morning to his website, saying he has known since the 2018 election that he would not be seeking a fourth term.

Ottawa’s longest-serving mayor, Watson was elected this go-around in 2010.

He also served from 1997-2000.
