The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) has made the decision to cancel the remainder of the 2022 World Juniors Hockey Championship due to the rising number of Covid-19 cases among players.
A number of teams, including Russia, Czechia, and the United States, have already forfeited matches due to positive test results.
Prior to this announcement, the IIHF had already announced that they were canceling all events for the month of January, including the women’s under-18 world championship.
