The beloved outdoor snow screening, Unikkaatuarniq (which means “storytelling” in Inuktitut) hosted by Asinabka Film Festival, is taking place virtually for the first time. The event boasts Indigenous films from Inuit and Sami communities in the circumpolar north. This year’s program includes two feature length screenings and ten short films. Unikkaatuarniq is a staple event at Winterlude, which cancelled most of its event in 2022. Due to COVID-19 restrictions and safety measures, organizers opted to put the Snowscreen programming online.
