It’s time to get excited movie lovers because the Kingston Canadian Film Festival has announced its lineup for 2022. For the first time in two years, the festival will have a theatrical component, with eight of the films having in-person screenings.
While in-person screenings will be capped at 50% capacity, most of the films will also be available to stream with the purchase of a digital ticket. Streaming versions will be available from their premiere date, until March 13th at 11:59 p.m.
This year’s festival features films from some of the best independent filmmakers working today. The lineup includes a number of Indigenous films, including Caroline Monnet’s Bootlegger, Elle-Máijá Tailfeathers’ documentary Kímmapiiyipitssini: The Meaning of Empathy, and Zoe Leigh Hopkins’ Run Woman Run.
95.7 Elmnt fm is proud to once again be a media sponsor for the Kingston Canadian Film Festival and is excited to be partnered with Run Woman Run. The film is about a single mother in Six Nations who receives some help from an unusual source in her efforts to get her life on track. It stars Dakota Ray Hebert, Lorne Cardinal, Braeden Clarke, Asivak Koostachin, and Jayli Wolf.
The Kingston Canadian Film Festival runs from March 3rd to March 13th, 2022. Tickets are available here.
