Kyana Kingbird on Indigenous Representation, and The Toronto Raptors Halftime Show

This morning, Mark and Jem from our sister station in Toronto, 106.5 Elmnt fm, had the opportunity to sit down with Kyana Kingbird. She is a Mi’kmaw and Ojibway fancy shawl dancer from Esgenoôpetitj (Burnt Church) First Nation in New Brunswick, a finalist in the Welcome Toronto Creators Challenge, and was recently featured in the Toronto RaptorsHalftime Show.

She talks about how she’s able to put her roots down wherever she goes, the importance of having Indigenous representation in all forms, and making waves around the world with her performance at Scotiabank Arena.
