Virtual panel on UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples

On July 7th, 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm (ET) the Government of Canada is hosting a rebroadcast of a virtual discussion panel featuring First Nations, Inuit and Métis experts and senior federal officials.

Speakers include: Laurie Sargent, Angie Bruce, Shalene Curtis-Micallef, Caleb Behn, Diana Kwan, Time Argetsigner, Brandon MacLeod, Kathleen Boston, Manitok Thompson and Elder Claudette Commanda.

The event focus on the implementation of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (UN Declaration Act) that came into affects in Canada June, 2021. The act aims to provide a framework for reconciliation at the federal level through consultation and collaboration with Indigenous communities.
