Silla and Rise are hitting the stage at Club SAW this month. They’re featured as special guests along with Kimmy Couture for Pantayo x Marisa Gallemit‘s show on Sunday, June 24th.

Silla and Rise consists of Inuit throat singers Charlotte Qamaniq, Cynthia Pitsiulak, and Charlotte Carleton. Alongside producer Rise Ashen, the group aims to create a space for traditional throat singing in the modern context, by mixing it with intense house and electronic beats.

The group has been nominated for many awards, including Indigenous Music Album of the Year at the 2017 Juno Awards for their self-titled debut album. They have also won many awards, including both Inuit Group of the Year and Artistic Video of the Year at the inaugural Summer Solstice Indigenous Music Awards in 2021.
