Jet Black Weekend Offers Showcase Opportunity

Ottawa is a fantastic city for local artists, with a huge variety of genres and cultural backgrounds. With all the artists that are already out there, it can be a daunting experience to try to set foot in the industry. However, the Ottawa Music Industry Coalition (OMIC) is partnering up with Double Experience to create an event that is perfect for up-and-coming artists. On November 25th and 26th, they’ll be hosting the 5th Jet Black Weekend event at Club SAW. You don’t want to miss this event, because they are offering local artists the chance to perform, as well as attend panels, workshops, and networking opportunities, all of which will discuss integral topics for succeeding as a local artist. On top of all of this, it’s entirely free!

Bilingual comedian Tim Riel will be hosting Jet Black Weekend, and three local bands will take the stage to perform for fans and industry professionals on the 26th. You can apply to be a part of the paid showcase opportunity by going to the OMIC website before November 8th, 2022. To attend the panels, workshops, and networking sessions, you can visit the Jet Black Weekend website.
