Today is National Indigenous Veterans Day, a day in which we honour and remember all of the Indigenous Peoples who have contributed to Canada’s military.
Prior to National Indigenous Veterans Day being founded in 1994, Indigenous veterans were not recognized for their service. Today, over 2,700 members of Indigenous communities are a part of Canada’s military forces.
