The holiday season is once again upon us, so let’s take a look at what’s open and closed in Ottawa throughout the holidays.
All Ottawa Public Library locations will be closed on December 25th, 26th, and January 1st. However, they will be open for regular hours from December 27th to 30th.
Green bin, recycling, and garbage collection will not be subject to holiday interruptions.
If you use OC Transpo to get around the city, all transit services will be on holiday service from December 25th to January 6th. On December 31st, OC Transpo will operate on a Saturday schedule, with additional service on busier routes. Additionally, fare on busses, the O-Train, and Para Transpo will be free between 6pm and 4am, in partnership with Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD).
If you need any retail therapy to get through the holidays, take note that most retail stores will be operating on modified hours on December 24th and December 31st, and will be closed on December 25th and January 1st. Some restaurants will be open on December 25th, but please check ahead if you’re going out for dinner that day. LCBO locations in the city will be closing at 6pm on December 24th and December 31st, and will be closed on December 25th and January 1st. Likewise, all Beer Store locations will be operating on holiday hours on December 24th to 26th, December 31st and January 1st. You can click here to see what your store’s holday hours are.
Last but not least, all of the Cineplex and Landmark movie theatre locations in the city will be open on December 25th and January 1st.
