Trailblazing Musician Buffy Sainte-Marie Retires From Live Performances

Cree musician Buffy Sainte-Marie has announced she is retiring from touring and live performances. The 82-year old has blazed a trail for Indigenous artists, including being the first Indigenous person to win an Academy Award.

She made the decision for a number of reasons, citing physical challenges and health concerns in the announcement on social media.

Buffy Sainte-Marie’s career spans six decades and 17 studio albums.
