Minoshkite Indigenous Music & Arts Festival Returns to Ottawa on October 3rd

The second annual Minoshkite (Mee-No-Shkeet) Indigenous Music & Arts Festival kicks off at The Bronson Centre Music Theatre in Ottawa on October 3rd, 2024.

This year’s festival features three-time Juno Award winner Tom Wilson (TEHOHÀHAKE TRIO), 2024 Ontario Folk Music Awards Performing Artist of the Year nominee Mimi O’Bonsawin, Inuk throat singer Qattuu, and Cree singer-songwriter Siibii. The festival will be hosted by and also feature a performance by Theland Kicknosway.

Minoshkite, which translates to “music to the ears” in Algonquin, is a free event showcasing some of Canada’s top Indigenous artists, while bringing people together in the nation’s capital. Minoshkite is presented by The Gord Downie & Chanie Wenjack Fund, 95.7 Elmnt fm, and Canadian Music Incubator, and is made possible and funded by the Canada Arts Presentation Fund (CAPF). Supporting sponsors include Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG), Meridian Credit Union, Long & McQuade, The Bronson Centre Music Theatre, Red Music Rising, and Aboriginal Peoples Television Network (APTN).
